The Festken Mission
Every move toward a better environment takes shape when people come together and work toward a common goal.
In 2015 when Festken was launched we had a mission to erase plastic waste globally, starting with one festival at a time. How much garbage does a typical music festival generate? The 2015 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, with 90,000 fans, produced more than 679 tons of plastic waste over four days. That is a shocking 15 pounds of waste per festival-goer; twice the amount a U.S. consumer uses daily.
Dancing, fist pumping, texting, and walking - the young crowds using the necessity of hydration in such an unfashionable and inconvenient way, the plain plastic beverage cup.
The Festken crew dreads this the most, and with your continued support we won’t have this problem. We are doing our part by tackling this issue at the source, to revolutionize waste in a stylish and convenient fashion.
At Festken, we understand that it is important to be part of the solution. This is why we are proud to be involved with non-profit organizations, where they are committed to helping music and arts events and festivals around the world adopt environmentally efficient practices.
Festken is also a proud supporter of charitable organizations where every dollar invested in water and sanitation provides a $4 economic return.
We are proud of the impact Festken is making and we thank you your incredible support and believing in our mission.
